The Nigeria Immigration Service has disengaged OIS Services as operator of its US visa application centres, requiring applicants to now apply directly at Nigerian missions.
Nigeria Drops US Visa Contractor, Directs Applicants to Embassy
The Nigeria Immigration Service announced the disengagement of Online Integrated Solutions, known as OIS Services, as the operator of Nigeria’s Visa Application and Submission Centres in the United States, according to a public notice shared on its official X account Thursday, as reported by Punch. The notice stated that OIS “has officially been disengaged from the collection and submission of visa applications on behalf of the Nigerian Mission, effective immediately.” Applicants seeking Nigerian visas must now submit applications directly at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, DC, or at the Consulates of Nigeria in New York and Atlanta, until further notice. The Consulate General of Nigeria in New York separately confirmed the change on its website, noting that OIS had discontinued handling applications on the consulate’s behalf. OIS Services had previously served as the outsourced visa centre for Nigerian missions across several US cities, including Washington, D.C., Houston, Atlanta, Los Angeles and New Jersey, managing biometric capturing and document submission for applicants. Neither the Nigeria Immigration Service nor the Nigerian missions in the US have disclosed the reason behind the disengagement.
