Works Minister David Umahi has downplayed Peter Obi’s political relevance ahead of 2027, insisting the former Anambra governor poses no threat to President Bola Tinubu, Vanguard reports.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Daybreak Show, Umahi said, “What displays around Peter Obi is AI politics… he cannot even face me, let alone face the president.” He questioned Obi’s moral authority to demand Tinubu’s resignation, citing unresolved issues from Obi’s tenure as Anambra governor, including roads, industry and contractor payments.
Umahi also accused the Obidient movement of intolerance toward dissenting views. On the economy, he argued the Tinubu administration inherited decades-old structural problems that could not be reversed within three years, insisting reforms were already yielding results.
