Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, says his proposed “Iru Ekun Security Network” is awaiting federal government approval, according to TheCable.
The Yoruba activist said the outfit is designed to flush out criminals hiding in forests across the South-West. He explained that all required documents have been submitted and the group is ready to work with security agencies including the Police, DSS, Army, and NSCDC. Igboho also noted compliance with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s order regulating private security operations.
He added that insecurity has made community-based security necessary, especially in rural areas. The proposal follows growing calls for stronger local security frameworks amid rising banditry and kidnappings. He urged swift approval from authorities to boost regional security efforts.
