Judge Orders Adeyemi’s Arrest In Fake Agency Trial
A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the arrest of Adeniyi Adeyemi after he missed his scheduled arraignment on charges linked to the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, according to Premium Times.
Judge Mohammed Umar issued the bench warrant following an oral application by the prosecution, dismissing the defence lawyer’s claim that Adeyemi feared for his life. The judge set 30 September as the new arraignment date.
Adeyemi faces eight charges, including conspiracy, forgery and impersonation, over forged documents including a presidential appointment letter and State House letterheads. He risks up to 21 years in prison if convicted on the forgery-related counts.
