A Cape Town court has reserved judgment until August 19 in Chidimma Adetshina’s deportation case, after which she admitted feeling “depressed” but vowed not to give up.

The Cape Town Regional Court postponed its ruling on whether Chidimma Adetshina should be detained pending deportation, setting judgment for August 19, Punch reports, citing SABC News.
Home Affairs lawyers argued Adetshina lacked valid immigration documents and still held an undeclared South African passport. Her legal team countered she was born in South Africa and posed no flight risk, proposing biweekly reporting instead of detention.
Magistrate Reema Khorana urged both sides toward a settlement, but none was reached. Afterward, Adetshina posted on Instagram admitting exhaustion and depression, but insisted she would keep fighting.
