The ICPC has clarified that Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila voluntarily honoured an invitation to give a statement in the PFIPC scandal and was not arrested, as some reports suggested.

The ICPC is setting the record straight. The anti-graft agency says Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila was not arrested over the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council scandal — he simply answered an invitation.
In a Tuesday statement, the commission confirmed Gbajabiamila appeared at its Abuja headquarters on Monday, gave his statement, and left. President Bola Tinubu had ordered the probe into the PFIPC, a body the Presidency calls fraudulent.
Separately, the House of Representatives is running its own probe. The CBN told lawmakers it opened two domiciliary accounts for the agency on a 2025 mandate, though no one ever activated them.
