According to Nairametrics, AIICO Insurance Plc has appointed three new directors to its board as it looks to deepen governance and sharpen strategic oversight. The insurer named Sadiq Mohammed as Independent Non-Executive Director, while Tunde Mabawonku and Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani joined as Non-Executive Directors.
The trio bring decades of experience spanning banking, pensions, capital markets, infrastructure, energy and advisory services. AIICO said their appointments are expected to strengthen board leadership as the company pursues growth opportunities.
The move comes as AIICO continues a solid run on the Nigerian market, with its shares up more than 21% year-to-date and first-quarter 2026 pre-tax profit rising to N5.8 billion from N5.1 billion a year earlier.
