JAMB explains ‘no result yet’ status for 2026 UTME candidates

JAMB says the “No Result Yet” message seen by some 2026 UTME candidates applies to underage candidates whose results have not been released.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has explained that candidates seeing “No Result Yet” while checking their 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results are underage, and their results have not been released.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB said it had received several enquiries from parents seeking clarification. “The Board has received numerous inquiries from parents regarding candidates whose results are currently displaying ‘No Result Yet,’” Benjamin said, noting that the message does not indicate a technical issue but reflects the eligibility status of affected candidates. “Please be informed that results for underage candidates have not been released. When such candidates attempt to check their results, the system will return the message ‘No Result Yet,’” the statement read.

JAMB reiterated that only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are eligible to register for and sit the UTME, in line with existing regulations. “As stipulated by regulation, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by 30th September 2026 are eligible to register for and sit the UTME,” Benjamin stated, adding that underage candidates may still be considered under an exceptional category if they meet strict performance benchmarks.
