FG Launches Laptop Credit Scheme

The Federal Government has unveiled the Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices Programme, aimed at widening access to affordable tech through consumer credit, Punch reports.

Communications Minister Bosun Tijani launched the scheme in Abuja, tying it to President Tinubu’s $1 trillion economy ambition, while CREDICORP’s Uzoma Nwagba said 1,000 locally assembled laptops would go to eligible fellows nationwide, starting with 77 beneficiaries in Abuja.

Officials say the programme, run with the Three Million Technical Talent Programme, will boost digital inclusion, local manufacturing, and job creation for young Nigerians.
