No entries as First Lady’s ₦50m community green challenge closes

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu says the ₦50 million community category of the Renewed Hope Initiative Green Nigeria Challenge closed on July 15 without any significant entries, while praising Minister Nyesom Wike’s Abuja City Gate remodelling as a model example.

₦50m Green Challenge Flops — No Entries

Nobody showed up for ₦50 million. First Lady Oluremi Tinubu announced Tuesday that the community category of her Green Nigeria Challenge, meant to transform dumpsites and abandoned spaces into green parks, closed without significant entries, according to Punch.

She praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s Abuja City Gate remodelling as the kind of transformation envisioned, and urged states to invest in cleaner communities and clear drainage to curb flooding. The Household and State categories remain open until December 20, 2026, with prizes of ₦20 million and ₦100 million respectively.
