Nigeria and Ghana’s foreign affairs ministers have jointly condemned a resurgence of xenophobic attacks in South Africa, calling it a threat to African unity.

Nigeria and Ghana have joined forces to condemn what they describe as “xenophobic attacks” in South Africa. In a joint statement, Nigeria’s foreign affairs minister, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, and Ghana’s foreign affairs minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, expressed deep concern over the resurgence of Afrophobic sentiments and violence in the country, according to TimesLIVE.
The two ministers noted that such acts undermine the ideals of African unity, as both nations took aim at the wave of violence targeting illegal immigrants in South Africa.
The statement comes amid renewed reports of attacks on foreign nationals across parts of South Africa.
