Accord Party stakeholders in Osun State have given Governor Ademola Adeleke seven days to publicly endorse presidential candidate Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim or face the withdrawal of their support ahead of the August 2026 governorship poll.
Adeleke Given 7 Days To Back Hashim Or Lose Accord Support
Accord Party leaders in Osun State are turning up the heat on Governor Ademola Adeleke, giving him until July 21 to publicly back the party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, according to Leadership Newspapers.
Meeting on Monday, party elders and grassroots mobilisers agreed the governor must formally invite Olawepo-Hashim to Osun State to lead the presidential campaign there — or risk losing their structures and votes ahead of the August governorship election.
Stakeholders speaking for the group include Alhaji Abass Olaniyi, Elder Timothy Ponle, Hon. Mrs. Folasade Owojori, and Hon. Mrs. Apeke Adewale, representing local governments across the state.
They said failure to meet the deadline would push them to begin consultations with other governorship candidates before August.
