Rescued Oyo school principal Rachael Alamu says she asked about her car after regaining freedom because she believed police had recovered it, only to later discover it had been burnt by her abductors.
RESCUED OYO PRINCIPAL EXPLAINS CAR QUESTION AFTER FREEDOM
Alamu, formally handed over to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan on Monday alongside other rescued teachers and pupils, explained that she initially believed police had towed her car away for safekeeping, according to a report by The PUNCH. She later learned her abductors had driven the vehicle to another location before setting it ablaze.
Speaking further, Alamu, who has taught for 28 years, said she remains uncertain about returning to work at the school following her 56-day ordeal in captivity. She cited both the trauma of the abduction and the long daily distance she travelled to the remote institution as factors weighing on her decision.
