Kwankwaso Demands Fresh Census After 20-Year Delay
Twenty years and counting — Kwankwaso says it’s time to stop the excuses. According to Daily Post Nigeria, the NDC vice-presidential candidate marked World Population Day with a statement on X demanding a fresh national census, arguing Nigeria’s continued reliance on 2006 data has hampered planning across education, healthcare, security, and infrastructure.
Kwankwaso stressed that accurate, updated population statistics are critical for governance, national security, and inclusive development.
“The time for excuses is over. The time to act is now,” he said, urging the Federal Government to conduct a credible, transparent, and technology-driven census without further delay.
