Former minister Uche Nnaji has dismissed reports on his academic records case, insisting the matter remains a civil proceeding and not a criminal conviction.

Nnaji Dismisses Academic Records Reports

Uche Nnaji is pushing back hard. The former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology has dismissed recent reports on his academic records dispute, according to Punch.

In a statement via spokesperson Robert Ngwu, Nnaji said media reports had confused a civil case — Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1909/2025 — with criminal proceedings. He clarified he was never charged or arraigned, and the case, seeking his official transcript, was adjourned to October 20, 2026.

Nnaji denied dodging ICPC invitations, saying he remains publicly active. His legal team, led by Chief Wole Olanipekun, is challenging an arrest warrant at the Court of Appeal. He insisted, “Filing a criminal charge does not amount to a finding of guilt.”
