A resurfaced video shows Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, accused of running a fictitious ₦1.3bn government agency, defending his claim to leadership and challenging the Presidency’s denial.

‘GHOST AGENCY’ ROW

A video of Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, at the centre of the alleged “ghost agency” scandal, has resurfaced, showing him defending his claim to head the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PUNCH reports.

At a June press briefing, Adeyemi questioned how a supposedly non-existent agency appeared in official budget documents and maintained accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria. He also alleged the Chief of Staff demanded a share of the agency’s ₦27.4bn take-off grant.

The Presidency insists the council has no legal backing and accuses Adeyemi of forgery and impersonation. He faces an eight-count charge before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
