Nigeria’s Immigration Service has warned citizens against travelling abroad without valid passports and visas, citing rising cases of fraudulent migration schemes, according to Vanguard News. It said criminal networks are exploiting young Nigerians with fake job and study offers that often end in trafficking and forced labour abroad.
Officials stressed that leaving the country without proper documentation is illegal and exposes travellers to serious personal danger and exploitation. They urged Nigerians to verify all travel or recruitment offers through government channels and report suspicious activity to immigration authorities. The agency also called on parents and community leaders to educate youths on the risks of irregular migration and human trafficking.
