FG Arraigns Six Over Alleged Plot to Overthrow Tinubu
The Federal Government is set to arraign six individuals, including two retired senior military officers and a serving police inspector, before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday over an alleged plot to wage war against Nigeria and overthrow President Bola Tinubu.
The defendants, alongside others said to be at large, face a 13-count charge bordering on treason, terrorism, and related offences. Prosecutors allege the suspects conspired in 2025 to undermine the Nigerian state and overawe the President.
The charges were filed by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, with arraignment scheduled before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik.
Labour Party Crisis Deepens as Abure Rejects Appeal Court Ruling
The leadership crisis in the Labour Party escalated on Tuesday as factional National Chairman Julius Abure rejected a Court of Appeal judgment affirming Nenadi Usman as party leader.

President Bola Tinubu has sacked the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, as part of a minor cabinet reshuffle.
The President also elevated Taiwo Oyedele to substantive Finance Minister and nominated Muttaqha Rabe Darma as Housing Minister designate. The changes were confirmed in a statement from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Bandits Kill Two, Abduct Seven in Kaduna Attack
Bandits have reportedly killed two persons and abducted seven others during an attack on Awon community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
