Why Christians must not take up arms despite attacks – Former PFN President

Rev. Felix Omobude, former president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, says Christians should not take up arms even though terrorists deliberately target them, warning that “violence will give birth to violence.” He noted that churches may organise protection through proper channels but stressed that calling for weapons would worsen the crisis.

Omobude argued that Nigeria’s sovereignty has already been violated by foreign insurgents and backed the government seeking external help to combat terrorism. He also reaffirmed his long-standing support for creating state police, saying the centralised system is outdated and hinders development, and welcomed President Bola Tinubu’s recent directive on state policing.
