NLC Threatens Nationwide Action Over Minimum Wage, Pension
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is gearing up for a nationwide push for a new minimum wage and better pension benefits, Daily Times reports.
NLC President Joe Ajaero declared the plan while commissioning the Comrade Godwin Abumisi Pensioners Legacy House in Abuja, insisting any wage review must come with a matching pension increase. He said inflation and rising living costs have eroded both, leaving workers and retirees struggling. Ajaero also announced a fresh campaign for a National Minimum Pension, calling it unjust for citizens who served the nation to retire into poverty. He urged pensioners to unite for the fight ahead, describing the new Legacy House as a hub for mobilisation and advocacy.
