Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has broken her silence on the intense public attention surrounding her rumoured relationship with Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, saying she cannot do anything without it becoming public discussion, days after the pair were spotted dining together at a luxury Venice hotel, according to a video shared on her Instagram Story.

CARDI B BREAKS SILENCE ON MADUKA OKOYE: ‘I CAN’T DO ANYTHING WITHOUT PEOPLE TALKING’

Cardi B has had enough of the spotlight following her every move — and she wants the world to know it.

The Grammy-winning rapper addressed growing speculation about her relationship with Super Eagles and Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye in a video posted to her Instagram Story on Monday, days after the pair were photographed having dinner together at Gio’s Restaurant inside the St. Regis Hotel in Venice, Italy.

“No cap, I’m really hip hop’s Britney Spears,” Cardi B said, comparing herself to the pop star whose every personal move became global news. She claimed other celebrities enjoy far more privacy despite equally eventful personal lives. “I got all the tea on these celebrities… I know who’s with who and what’s doing what. But guess what? Nobody reports about it. You want to know why? Because nobody cares,” she said.

The rapper made clear the double standard frustrated her. “But when it comes to me… I can’t even… do anything without people talking about it. This is crazy,” she said, before adding philosophical resignation: “You’ve got to take the good with the bad. It is what it is. People pay for this type of talk.”

The Venice sighting was not the first time Cardi B and Okoye had been photographed together. The pair had previously attracted attention at the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall/Winter 2026 Haute Couture Show during Paris Fashion Week.

The speculation comes at a complicated time for the Nigerian goalkeeper. His former partner and the mother of his child, Dutch model Jelicia Westhoff, recently accused Okoye of domestic abuse, infidelity and parental neglect in a series of Instagram posts. Okoye has not publicly responded to the allegations.
