The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) is sounding the alarm as drug-resistant gonorrhoea spreads across Europe. Strains resistant to the key antibiotic ceftriaxone are increasing, threatening future treatment options. The ECDC urges stronger prevention and testing to curb the spread of these concerning strains.
