UK-Based Nigerian Mum Dies By Suicide After Mental Health Struggle
A coroner’s court in the UK has ruled that Beatrice Solomon, a 27-year-old Nigerian woman, died by suicide after struggling with her mental health, according to Punch Newspapers.
Solomon, who moved to the UK on a skilled worker visa in 2023, was found unresponsive at her Stanfield home by her husband, Damian Butler, who told the inquest her struggles were linked to issues with Stoke-on-Trent City Council. He said he later learned she had made two previous attempts on her life.
A post-mortem found she died from oxygen deprivation. Coroner Li Hammond-Naylor said evidence showed she had researched and planned her death, extending condolences to her family. Solomon is survived by her husband, son and siblings.
