A Federal High Court judge has rejected Omoyele Sowore’s request to postpone his cyberbullying trial until after the court’s annual vacation, ordering him to continue his defence on July 16.
Court Rejects Sowore’s Bid for Extended Adjournment
Justice Mohammed Umar has rejected Omoyele Sowore’s bid for a lengthy adjournment in his cyberbullying trial against President Bola Tinubu, according to Channels TV.
Sowore’s lawyer had sought to delay proceedings until after the court’s annual vacation, citing the unavailability of lead counsel Olumide Fusika. DSS counsel Akinlolu Kehinde opposed the request, noting the case had already faced 10 adjournments.
Citing the court’s earlier order for accelerated hearing, Justice Umar denied the application and directed Sowore to appear July 16 to continue his defence.
