A U.S. federal court sentenced Lagos-based internet fraudster Daniel Chima Inweregbu to 33 months in prison for wire fraud and a romance-scam scheme. He also faces three years of supervised release and $166,400 in victim restitution.
Inweregbu was extradited from the UK and pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud. He defrauded four American women of over $405,000 using fabricated identities and emotional manipulation.
