A 17-year-old girl, Iwasen Terhemba, was reportedly attacked with a razor blade in her home in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State, leaving permanent scars on her face and deep emotional trauma. The assault, which took place over the weekend, has sparked outrage in the community, particularly over allegations that law enforcement agencies have failed to apprehend the perpetrator, who remains at large. Iwasen, who lives under the care of her guardian, Jemila Savalla Wanga, is said to have been targeted for some time by persistent advances from a married man identified as Mr. Abbas.
The situation allegedly escalated when Mr. Abbas’ wife, Ramatu Abbas, became aware of her husband’s involvement with the minor. Instead of confronting her husband, she reportedly directed her anger at the teenager, subjecting her to insults and threats. According to sources, a planned intervention by the guardian, in which she approached Mrs. Abbas to address the harassment, ended in violence when Mrs. Abbas allegedly returned to Iwasen’s home and slashed her face with a razor blade, causing serious injuries that required medical treatment.
Speaking to The Guardian by telephone, the guardian called on authorities to act swiftly, citing ongoing threats against both herself and Iwasen. The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from the local community, highlighting concerns over the safety of minors and the need for urgent law enforcement intervention.

We are still living in this contraption called Nigeria as if we are in 16th century. Urgent attention of the law enforcement officers is required to attend to this matter ASAP
