Two people were killed and one injured during what police described as a “rolling terror attack” in northern Israel. The assailant first struck a 68-year-old male pedestrian in Beit Shean before driving eight miles to Ein Harod, where he fatally stabbed an 18-year-old woman. A civilian eventually shot and wounded the suspect near the city of Afula.
The 37-year-old suspect, a resident of Qabatiya in the West Bank, reportedly entered Israel illegally and utilized his employer’s vehicle for the assault. In response, Defense Minister Israel Katz instructed the IDF to act “forcefully and immediately.” Consequently, the military is now preparing for a localized operation in the suspect’s home village to address the security breach.
This violence follows a separate incident where an Israeli reservist was fired for ramming a praying Palestinian with a quad bike. Tensions remain high as the United Nations reports a surge in West Bank violence. The IDF confirmed the suspect had “infiltrated into Israeli territory several days ago” prior to the fatal events on Friday.
