Authorities in Mercer County, United States, have arrested a 64-year-old retired elementary school teacher and Santa performer, identified as Mark Paulino of Hamilton Township, on charges involving child sexual abuse material. Prosecutor Janetta Marbrey’s office said Paulino is facing multiple counts, including second-degree possession with intent to distribute and endangering the welfare of a child. Detectives acted after New Jersey State Police traced uploads of child pornography to a Hamilton Township residence.
Prosecutors said Paulino, whose website offered Santa appearances for private and community events, was taken into custody on December 5 after investigators obtained and executed a search warrant. He faces five to ten years in prison if convicted, with possible fines up to $150,000. A motion has been filed to keep him detained, while authorities continue investigations and urge anyone with relevant information or concerning past interactions to come forward.
