LIST: 42 Visa Waiver Program countries whose citizens must submit 5 years worth of social media history to enter the U.S

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has proposed a new rule that would significantly expand the personal data required from travelers from 42 Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries. Announced in December 2025, the measure makes the disclosure of social media history from the past five years mandatory for VWP applicants seeking an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). Previously, social media disclosure was optional for these short-term visitors entering the U.S. without a traditional visa.

The U.S. Visa Waiver Program (VWP) currently includes 42 countries, allowing citizens to travel to the U.S. for tourism or business for up to 90 days without a visa.
