Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo has accused the Nigerian government of sponsoring criminality and infiltrating security agencies with former terrorists, while calling for U.S. intervention to address what he describes as a state-sanctioned security crisis.
Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, a prominent and vocal cleric, has leveled explosive allegations against the Nigerian government and political elites, accusing them of complicity in the nation’s persistent insecurity and the systemic “exalting” of former terrorists into state security forces. During an interview with News Central, Dachomo claimed that authorities are turning a blind eye to violence for financial gain, asserting, “These are people that enjoy looting government money by releasing their children, the almajiris and the rest… and they do atrocities to the whole nation and the government knows.”
The cleric further alleged that the military’s efforts are being undermined by “repentant” Boko Haram members integrated into the Army, Air Force, and Police who act as informants, stating that “before our Nigerian Army will arrive at a place where a terrorist camp is, the repentant Boko Haram has passed a signal to them.” While the Nigerian military consistently denies recruiting former insurgents, Dachomo expressed a “500%” endorsement of foreign intervention from U.S. President Donald Trump, arguing that the “Nigerian government’s hands are tight” and that there is a coordinated effort to deny the existence of a “genocide on Christian” populations.
