ILHAN OMAR FIRES BACK AT BROTHER MARRIAGE CLAIMS: CALLS TRUMP’S REVIVAL A “NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT”
Rep. Ilhan Omar’s hitting back after Trump dusted off those persistent accusations that she married her brother to game immigration back in 2009, a claim that’s followed her since 2016.
Omar dismissed it as pure ignorance:
“Everybody knows I came to the United States at the age of 12, gained my citizenship at the age of 17, and I am an elected representative in the House of Congress.
And so the House of Representatives in Congress.
And so for me, you know, I look at it as a display of his ignorance.
And I see it as a national embarrassment that he continues to say those kinds of things even though he does know what the truth is.”
Her team points to the timeline: she arrived as a refugee, became a naturalized citizen as a teen, divorced ex-husband Ahmed Elmi in 2017, and denies any biological connection to him.
Elmi now lives in South Africa, according to recent posts.
With MAGA voices amping up “deport her” chants and Omar reporting ICE stopped her son (let go after ID check), it’s heating up the immigration debate, old claims meeting new admin muscle.
