African fintech giant Flutterwave has obtained a national microlending licence in Nigeria, allowing the company to offer credit services and compete more directly with traditional banks. The move marks a significant expansion of its financial services within Africa’s largest economy.
The company now joins international fintech firms such as Revolut and Wise that are pursuing banking licences to broaden their operations and speed up growth in the global financial services market.
