FG publishes 2026 list of licensed digital loan apps

The Federal Government, through the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), has published an updated list of approved digital loan applications for 2026. The move aims to provide clarity for consumers and ensure that only licensed money lenders operate within Nigeria’s growing financial technology sector.

According to the FCCPC, the register is part of ongoing efforts to regulate the digital lending industry and protect borrowers from unlicensed operators. The Commission emphasized that the list includes only companies and applications that have met its compliance and licensing requirements.

The announcement is expected to help consumers make informed borrowing decisions while strengthening oversight in Nigeria’s fintech space, which has seen rapid growth alongside concerns over predatory lending practices.

Over 400 loan apps approved

According to the FCCPC, more than 400 loan apps have now been granted full approval status.
