Chinese mining companies operating in Nigeria have denied recent claims linking them to illegal activities and terrorism financing in the country.
Speaking through the Federation of Chinese Mining Companies in Nigeria, the firms dismissed allegations made in a December 11, 2025 report by the Renevlyn Development Initiative titled Silent Conquest: The Chinese Infiltration of Nigeria’s Solid Minerals Sector. The report had accused some Chinese nationals of engaging in illegal mining, environmental degradation, economic sabotage, and funding terrorism.
