A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Dele Momodu, has said many members of the ruling All Progressives Congress are unhappy under President Bola Tinubu’s administration but conceal their frustrations. He said Nigerians should be worried about the direction in which the Tinubu-led APC is steering the country.
Momodu made the remarks on Monday while speaking during an X Space session titled Avrilsspace: The Electoral Mathematics for 2027. He said, “I believe that an average Nigerian must be worried about the direction that APC and its leadership is leading us,” adding that party loyalists and cronies often present a different narrative in public.
According to him, many APC supporters express dissatisfaction privately, saying, “When you engage them behind the scenes, they will weep at you that they are not happy.”
Momodu added that public support for leaders is often driven by personal expectations, noting that people hold on to power hoping that “something might fall in my own way somewhere along the line.”
