Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed sympathy to heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua following a road accident along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.
In a post on his X account on Monday, Atiku said he was saddened by the incident and offered prayers for Joshua. “I stand in full solidarity with him during this difficult moment and pray for his swift and complete recovery,” he wrote, also extending condolences to the families of two people who reportedly died.
Joshua was travelling in a Lexus SUV when the vehicle collided with a stationary truck near the Makun area of the expressway.
Authorities have yet to issue an official report, and details of the crash remain under investigation. Eyewitnesses indicated that the boxer narrowly escaped serious harm, while the vehicle sustained significant damage.
As of the time of reporting, there were no official updates on Joshua’s medical condition.
