Osun: Gov. Adeleke can’t read or write, reject him – APC campaign DG tells voters

The Director-General of the APC Campaign Organisation, Hon. Wole Oke, has alleged that Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke lacks the educational qualifications to govern effectively, urging voters at a rally in Egbedore LGA to elect APC candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji in the August 15 governorship election.

With the August 15 Osun governorship election closing in fast, the APC is going on the offensive — and it is getting personal.

Hon. Wole Oke, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Campaign Organisation, took direct aim at incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke during a campaign rally in Awo, Egbedore Local Government Area on Tuesday, questioning the governor’s educational qualifications and capacity to lead the state.

“Don’t vote for a governor who can’t read or write. Rather, vote for competence and someone with a good educational background,” Oke declared, as reported by The Sun.

Oke framed the August 15 election as a straightforward choice between what he described as poor, incompetent leadership and the vision offered by APC governorship candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, widely referred to as AMBO. He called on Egbedore residents and stakeholders to unite behind Oyebamiji and described the vote as an opportunity to correct what he termed the “mistake” of the 2023 election — a contest the APC lost in the local government area.

The campaign chief pointed to strong turnout at recent rallies in Ede and Awo as evidence of growing APC momentum across the state ahead of polling day.

Oyebamiji, speaking at the same event, struck a forward-looking tone, pledging infrastructure improvements, job creation and people-centred governance if elected. “My administration will usher in better days,” he assured residents.

The APC’s attack on Adeleke’s credentials is not new territory — the governor’s educational qualifications have previously been a subject of public controversy and legal dispute. The incumbent has not yet publicly responded to Oke’s latest remarks.

Osun goes to the polls on August 15.
