Zoning disputes threaten ADC coalition, says Peter Obi

Peter Obi, Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, said the ADC coalition remains unsettled due to unresolved questions on zoning and the rotation of major political offices. In an interview on YouTube, he said the coalition must agree on clear terms, noting there are “unsigned agreements about the presidency” and that “all those things need to be organised” to avoid confusion.

He acknowledged key figures leading the coalition, saying he respects individuals such as David Mark and Atiku Abubakar, whom he described as “my own leader”. Asked about his commitment if not chosen as the coalition’s presidential candidate, Obi said, “I’m not desperate to be president of Nigeria, I’m desperate to see Nigeria work.”
