Zamfara halts cholera outbreak after 192 deaths

Zamfara state authorities have announced the successful containment of a cholera outbreak that claimed 192 lives. A total of 15,464 cases were recorded across 14 local government areas, with 15,265 patients recovering and being discharged.

Health Commissioner Nafisa Maradun confirmed the development, stating there are no active cases. The World Health Organization lauded Zamfara’s political commitment and stressed improved, coordinated data reporting for future public health responses.
