The North-Central Writers Advocacy Group (NCWAG) has expressed dismay over reports alleging the Zamfara State Government, led by Governor Dauda Lawal, secretly released convicted terrorists and bandits. NCWAG called on federal authorities, including the Presidency and National Security Adviser, to investigate these claims and brief Nigerians.
The group highlighted that 291 Boko Haram members and 219 armed bandits, all convicted criminals, were purportedly freed. NCWAG warned that if true, this act constitutes a severe breach of public trust and national security, risking an escalation of Nigeria’s existing security crises.
