Two Zamfara State lawmakers, Sulaiman Hassan-Bosko and Nura Dahiru, have defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The PDP’s publicity secretary, Halliru Andi, stated their move was a reaction to the “deepening crisis, internal rancour, and poor leadership” within the APC in Zamfara.
Mr. Andi added that the lawmakers were inspired by Governor Dauda Lawal’s commitment to security, infrastructure, and transparency. The PDP welcomed their integration, believing it strengthens the party’s capacity to deliver development. The assembly speaker, Bilyaminu Ismail, confirmed their defection.
