Alexander Isak’s last WhatsApp message to Newcastle players after sealing a £125m Liverpool move has been revealed.
Alexander Isak’s farewell message to Newcastle team-mates after completing his £125million move to Liverpool has been revealed.
Isak finalised a British record transfer on deadline day after forcing his exit from St James’ Park. Newcastle defender Dan Burn said the striker sent a simple message of gratitude.
“He put a message in the chat just saying that he was leaving, and thanks for the memories,” Burn said. “The lads replied. I think Alex is getting what he wants, and now we’ve just got to focus on the players we’ve got.”
Burn added that the saga strengthened the squad’s resolve. “It brought us closer. People have short careers and want to max out everything they can, so there’s no hard feelings from me.”
Isak’s departure prompted Newcastle to sign Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade ahead of their Champions League campaign.
