Customers can send money to more than 200 countries and territories and exchange dollars directly from WhatsApp.
Western Union has introduced a new service in Peru that allows customers to send money and exchange dollars directly through WhatsApp.
The company said the feature enables users to transfer funds to more than 200 countries and territories and carry out foreign exchange transactions from their mobile devices. Transactions are initiated by sending a message to the designated WhatsApp number and filling out a form.
“This proposal expands the range of solutions for our customers in Peru,” said Rafael De la Puente, Country Director of Western Union Peru. “We noticed that many users were already communicating with us through WhatsApp, and we wanted to go a step further, offering them the possibility of managing their operations directly from there.”
As part of a limited-time promotion, customers can send money fee-free to several Latin American countries. The company said the initiative reinforces its focus on convenience, security, and global connectivity.
