Uzo-Uwani Local Government Council Chairman, Barrister Chijioke Ezugwu, launched “Operation Kwechiri” and deployed 320 trained vigilante operatives. This new security force, equipped with four vehicles and 25 motorcycles, aims to combat insecurity and provide 24-hour surveillance across the LGA’s 16 wards.
Ezugwu stated the operation complements Governor Peter Mbah’s security efforts, emphasizing a commitment to deny space for crime. Governor Mbah, represented by Mr. Vincent Onyeabor, praised the improved security in Uzo-Uwani, while other officials urged responsible use of resources.
