UN Women reaffirms its dedication to strengthening Nigeria’s policy frameworks, enhancing digital safety, and ensuring accountability for online harms. Nyara Gumbonzvanda, Deputy Executive Director, emphasized this during a press conference in Abuja as part of her high-level mission.
The visit sought to advance gender equality and empower women and girls, addressing rising technology-facilitated GBV. Ms. Gumbonzvanda also called for increased women’s representation in the National Assembly and the release of abducted girls.
