UK police charge 16-year-old over killing of Nigerian teenager

UK police have charged a 16-year-old boy with the murder of Eghosa Ogbebor, with investigations ongoing and multiple suspects linked to the case.

The Metropolitan Police has charged a 16-year-old boy with the murder of Eghosa Ogbebor, a 14-year-old who was shot dead in Woolwich, London. The suspect, who cannot be named, is expected to appear before Thames Magistrates’ Court. Police said, “A boy has been charged with murder over the shooting of 14-year-old Eghosa Ogbebor in Woolwich.”

Authorities disclosed the suspect was first arrested on April 4, released on bail, and later re-arrested on April 9 before being charged. “The 16-year-old, of Romford, was charged with murder on Friday, 10 April and will appear… on Saturday,” the statement added.

Police confirmed other individuals arrested in connection with the case have been granted bail, while another 16-year-old remains in custody. Investigations into the shooting, which occurred on April 2, are ongoing as authorities continue efforts to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
