UK court mentions Tinubu, Osinbajo in Diezani Alison-Madueke corruption trial

UK prosecutors have referenced President Tinubu, former Vice President Osinbajo, and other Nigerian figures while presenting evidence in the ongoing corruption trial of ex-petroleum minister Diezani Alison-Madueke.

A UK court has mentioned President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and oil businessman Kolawole Aluko during proceedings in the corruption trial of former Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke at the Southwark Crown Court in London.

Prosecutors said digital records, audio transcripts, emails, and messages recovered by the National Crime Agency and Metropolitan Police were presented as evidence. The materials allegedly referenced interactions involving political and business figures connected to the former minister’s dealings.

Alison-Madueke faces five counts of accepting bribes and one count of conspiracy to commit bribery, all of which she denies. Prosecutors also detailed claims of luxury spending and property renovations, while stressing that the evidence was being tendered solely to support charges against her.
