A UK-based Nigerian doctor, Dr. Olufunmilayo (@OurfavonlineDoc), has urged people to reconsider using dry toilet paper for cleaning after defecation, calling it one of the least effective hygiene methods.

Tissue paper is one of the worst things to use to clean your anus. Because tissue paper only removes some of the shit and smears rest of the shit around your anus. This is one reason why your boxers/underwear is always stained and your anus is sometimes itchy always. It is poor anus hygiene.
The ideal and healthiest way to clean your anus is with water. The next best way is with wet wipes.
Dry toilet tissue paper is the worst way to clean your anus. But of course, not many of you know this, or will agree with this.
If you can afford to, or you have access to it, please always use water to clean your anus after you do a poo.
