Udeh, Nnamani champion law enlightenment in Enugu

Legal experts in Enugu launched the Law Enlightenment Project (LEPENS), or Nkowa Iwu, an Enugu State Government initiative to improve legal awareness. Dr. Kingsley Udeh, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, emphasized LEPENS as “a legacy of accessibility, empowerment, and justice rooted in awareness,” stressing that “laws must live in the daily consciousness of the people.”

Hon. Justice George Chibueze Nnamani criticized the “ignorance of the law is no excuse” principle, highlighting its oppressive nature for uninformed citizens. He praised LEPENS for “supplying the missing link between existing laws and mass knowledge thereof.” Project Director Barr. Ikechukwu Maximus Ugwuoke stated LEPENS aims “to simplify and demystify the law for every citizen of Enugu State.”
