The UAE has ordered hotels to provide free accommodation to travellers stranded after Iranian attacks forced the temporary closure of its airspace.
The United Arab Emirates has offered free hotel accommodation to thousands of travellers stranded after Iranian missile and drone attacks targeted parts of the country, including Dubai International Airport. Authorities shut the nation’s airspace on Saturday, halting inbound and outbound flights amid escalating tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.
The UAE Department of Culture and Tourism directed hotels to extend stays for affected guests at no cost. “In light of the current circumstances and given that some guests have reached their checkout date but are unable to travel for reasons beyond their control, you are kindly requested to extend their stay until they are able to depart. The cost of the extended stay will be covered by DCT Abu Dhabi,” the department said.
